Elderberry Tea: An Easy Way to Take Elderberry With You Anywhere

At home, on the road, or curled up with a warm cup when you're feeling under the weather, elderberry tea is one of the easiest ways to enjoy elderberry wherever life takes you.

There is just something about a warm cup of tea.

It's comforting. It's easy. And when you're traveling or simply don't want to carry a bottle of elderberry syrup with you, tea is incredibly convenient.

That's one of the reasons I love our Elderberry Tea at The Syrup Shop.

It gives you another way to enjoy the familiar flavors of elderberry and herbs in a simple tea bag you can toss into your purse, suitcase or carry-on.

All you need is hot water and a cup.

One of My Favorites for Traveling

Travel is probably one of my favorite times to bring Elderberry Tea along.

When I'm packing, I don't necessarily want to worry about keeping an opened bottle of syrup refrigerated or taking up space in my bag.

Tea bags solve that problem.

Throw a few in your purse or suitcase and they're ready whenever you want one. Most hotels have a coffee maker or access to hot water, and it's easy to find hot water in airports, restaurants and coffee shops.

Add a little honey or fresh lemon if you have it, and you've got a delicious cup of herbal tea almost anywhere.

When You're Just Not Feeling Your Best

There are days when you simply want something warm and comforting.

Maybe it's cold outside. Maybe you've had a long day. Maybe you're feeling a little under the weather and want to curl up on the couch with a warm mug.

That's when a cup of elderberry tea just hits differently.

The combination of warm water, elderberry and herbs makes it a cozy alternative when you don't necessarily feel like eating or drinking something cold.

Add honey and a squeeze of fresh lemon for an especially comforting cup.

Kids Love It Too

One of the things we've found over the years is that kids often really enjoy the flavor of elderberry.

And tea gives parents another way to serve it.

You can make it warm, let it cool down, or even serve it over ice.

A little honey can make it especially delicious for kids who prefer something sweeter. Just remember that honey should never be given to children younger than 12 months because of the risk of infant botulism.

And sometimes presentation makes all the difference. Give them their own special mug, add a slice of orange or lemon, and suddenly tea feels like a treat.

Hot or Iced

Elderberry tea doesn't have to be reserved for cold weather.

During the warmer months, brew it as usual, let it cool and pour it over ice.

Add fresh berries, lemon, orange or a little honey if you'd like.

That makes Elderberry Tea something you can keep in the pantry year-round rather than only reaching for it during fall and winter.

And Yes...You Can Make an Elderberry Hot Toddy

For the adults, Elderberry Tea can also make a delicious base for a hot toddy.

Start by brewing a cup of Elderberry Tea.

Add honey and fresh lemon to taste. Adults who drink alcohol can add their preferred spirit if desired, or simply leave the alcohol out for a cozy alcohol-free version.

Either way, you've got a warm, flavorful drink that's especially nice on a cold evening.

Here's What Makes Our Elderberry Tea Different

Our Elderberry Tea comes in a package of four generously filled tea bags.

But don't let the four-pack fool you.

Each tea bag can be steeped two to three times within the same day, so you can get multiple cups from a single bag.

Have your first cup in the morning, re-steep the same bag later in the day, and potentially enjoy it once more that evening.

That also makes the tea especially convenient for traveling because you don't have to pack nearly as many tea bags.

A Simple Addition to Your Pantry or Travel Bag

There are times when you want your bottle of Elderberry Syrup.

There are times when making your own syrup with one of our Make-at-Home Kits sounds like fun.

And then there are times when you just want to heat some water and make a cup of tea.

That's why we offer all three.

Keep Elderberry Tea in the pantry, tuck a few bags into your suitcase before your next trip, or make yourself a warm cup the next time you're craving something cozy.

Sometimes simple really is best.
