Wait...isn’t sumac poisonous?

The sumac in this kit is staghorn sumac, Rhus typhina. It is a different plant from poison sumac, Toxicodendron vernix. Staghorn sumac is known for its upright clusters of deep red berries and naturally tart, citrus-like flavor.
